Aydın-Germencik Ömerbeyli geothermal field is a high temperature field located at eastern of Büyük Menderes graben at boundary of Ömerbeyli-Alangullu area. Ömerbeyli geothermal reservoir is a “water dominated” geothermal reservoir with the highest  temperature (232 ^oC).

Ömerbeyli geothermal field where is controlled by graben fault system. Geological, geophysical, geochemical studies, drilling and test of MTA show that reservoir temperature of the field is up to 232 ^oC. A total of 9 production wells were drilled between 1982-1986 years by MTA.

GÜRMAT was drilled additional 9 new wells with using new and modern drilling technology between 2007-2008 years for supply geothermal steam to Germencik power plant and reinjection of waste water.
